STEP 1: Each student will choose a Francophone country or province to research.

 

* Each country or province can only be chosen once.

* Write your name on the Francophone country list provided by the teacher.

* Pick up the necessary question sheets before you begin.

Step 2: Begin your research using all available resources.

 

* Use the internet resources page to begin your research.

* Be aware of the subject heading of each question. (EX. economics vs. culture)

* Complete the question sheets as you do your research.

* The answers to your questions will help you develop your informational brochure or travel guide.

 

 

Step 3: Brainstorm ideas for your promotional travel guide or informational brochure.

 

* You can promote your country or province in various ways: a booklet/brochure, a poster, or a collage.

 

Step 4: Decide on the type of promotion you will use for your country or province.

Will it be a booklet/brochure, a poster, or a collage?

 

* Necessary items for your brochure or guide include the following:

Title or slogan

Map of the country or province

Picture of the flag

Pictures or drawings of places or monuments

Use of color- not necessarily color pictures

* Necessary written information you will need to include:

Population

Languages used

Climate/Weather

Literacy/Employment rate

Transportation system

Cultural information that would be helpful in promoting your country

Summary

A paragraph summary in the final part of the promotion of your country. The summary should be clear and complete as to why your country should be the host of the Olympics. It should also include an explantion of two or three advantages and disadvantages of being a host country for the Olympics.

 

 

Step 5: Turn in your brochure, poster or collage. Also, turn in your finished question worksheets.
